Terms, in plain words.

Last updated: 27 May 2026/Version 1.0/Current
In plain words

Qobi is a supportive assistant, not an official source. It can be wrong or incomplete, so always confirm high-stakes things (deadlines, fees, permits) with the official ALU office. Use your own ALU account, keep it secure, and use Qobi lawfully.

§ 01

Agreement.

By using Qobi you agree to these Terms and to the Privacy Policy. If you don't agree, don't use the service.

§ 02

Eligibility.

You must be a current ALU student with a valid ALU email, and you must have the right to connect the accounts you link (Gmail, Canvas). You're responsible for activity under your account.

§ 03

What Qobi is — and isn't.

Qobi helps you notice and prepare for obligations. It is informational and supportive only. It is not official ALU communication, and not legal, immigration, financial, or academic advice.

Always verify important matters with the responsible office (Registrar, Student Life, DGIE/immigration, Finance) and official Canvas/email notices.

§ 04

Not affiliated with ALU.

Qobi is an independent, student-built tool. It is not endorsed by or affiliated with African Leadership University unless explicitly stated. "ALU", "Canvas", "Google", and other names belong to their respective owners.

§ 05

AI limitations.

Qobi's briefs are generated by AI and may be inaccurate, outdated, or incomplete, and may miss things in your inbox or Canvas. Do not rely on Qobi alone for any high-stakes deadline or decision — you remain responsible for verifying and acting.

§ 06

Your responsibilities.

Keep your account and connected tokens secure, provide accurate profile information, and use Qobi only for lawful, personal purposes.

  • Don't attempt to misuse, overload, or reverse-engineer the service.
  • Don't try to gain unauthorised access to other accounts or systems.
  • Don't share your account with anyone else.
§ 07

Third-party services.

Qobi relies on Google, Canvas / Instructure, and others; your use of those is governed by their own terms, and we're not responsible for their availability or actions.

§ 08

Service changes.

Qobi is an early-stage product; features may change, pause, or end, and we may limit or suspend access to protect the service or comply with the law.

§ 09

"As is" / no warranties.

Qobi is provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind, including accuracy, fitness for a particular purpose, or uninterrupted availability.

§ 10

Limitation of liability.

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Qobi and its team are not liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages, or for any missed deadline, fee, penalty, or outcome arising from your use of (or reliance on) the service.

§ 11

Termination.

You can stop using Qobi and disconnect your accounts at any time. We may suspend or terminate access if these Terms are breached.

§ 12

Governing law.

These Terms are governed by the laws of Rwanda, without regard to conflict-of-law rules.

§ 13

Contact.
